UDP (Advanced)

If you're building a high-performance application and would like to avoid the performance overhead required by WebSockets, Monogram also supports communication over local UDP (Datagram) sockets.
To receive messages over UDP, open config.json and change your connection type to "udp". Then specify which port your application has open.
{
"name": "MyPhotoEditor",
"id": "com.example.myphotoeditor",
"connection": [
{
"name": "MyPhotoEditorConnection",
"type": "udp",
"port": 51234
}
]
}
Here, Monogram sends UDP messages to port 51234 over localhost. The messages have the same format as described in the Read Inputs section.
